Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro, S27 Ultra certification reveals 60W charging speed

Samsung appears to be doubling down on its recent push for faster power delivery, as new regulatory filings suggest the upcoming Galaxy S27 series will see an expansion of high speed charging. According to documents from China’s 3C certification platform, both the Galaxy S27 Ultra and a newly teased Galaxy S27 Pro will support 60W charging speeds. This marks a significant shift for the company, which spent years capping its flagship devices at 45W before finally introducing the 60W standard with the previous generation’s Ultra model.

The leak is particularly interesting because it hints at a shakeup in Samsung’s naming conventions. For the first time, the company seems poised to introduce a Pro branded device into the S series lineup alongside the traditional Ultra variant. Both of these high end models will share the upgraded charging capability, though users should expect to purchase their bricks separately since Samsung continues its trend of omitting chargers from the retail packaging.

While the premium models get a boost, other members of the family may feel left behind. Separate certifications indicate that the base Galaxy S27 will stick with 45W charging, while the S27 Plus surprisingly shows support for only 27W. Despite these discrepancies in wired speeds, every phone in the quartet is expected to maintain support for wireless and reverse wireless charging features.

Industry observers are also noting how quickly these certifications are appearing compared to previous cycles. Because all four handsets have already hit the Chinese database well ahead of schedule, there is growing speculation that Samsung might move its official launch window forward. If current patterns hold, consumers could be seeing these new devices hit shelves as early as January 2027 rather than waiting until later in the spring.
