They are now urging gamers worldwide to keep their consoles unplugged permanently until the tech giant changes its current trajectory, claiming that anything less than total commitment will fail to move the needle.
The heart of the anger stems from Sony’s controversial decision to stop producing physical discs by January 2028, a move that many enthusiasts view as a betrayal of collectors and long term fans. This resentment is further compounded by a growing feeling that leadership at PS Studios has lost touch with its community, particularly following reports regarding the rebooted development of Horizon Hunters Gathering. A recent poll indicated that an overwhelming majority of fans believe fresh management is needed to steer the platform back toward its player base.
However, this resolve faces a daunting challenge known as the release calendar. By committing to an indefinite boycott, these players are effectively opting out of some of the most anticipated software in gaming history.
